The City of Iriga was selected as the Region’s Outstanding Local Government Unit (non-accredited category) by the Civil Service Commission Regional Office 5 during the awards rites held at the La Roca Suites in Legazpi City on September 8, 2010 with no less than Legazpi City Mayor Geraldine Rosal, Albay Vice Gov. Harold Imperial and CSC Chairman Francisco T. Duque III, in attendance.
Dr. Nenet B. Beriña bested four other Human Resources Management Practitioners (HRMPs) and adjudged as the Region’s Outstanding HRMP for LGUs (non accredited category) during the Honor and Awards Program (HAP) Awards Rites held at the La Roca Suites, Legazpi City.
The 42nd celebration of the conversion of Iriga into a city was a colorful success as elementary and high schools from all corners of Rinconada and neighboring towns sent their gaily costumed Drum and Lyre Corps and Majorettes to compete for the traditional marching titles and the new Cheer Majorettes tilt.
There are at least 961 persons with disability (PWD) in the city, a recent inventory of the City Social Welfare Department showed.
