Doing Business in Iriga

As iriga brace itself towards making it one of the growth centers in the bicol region, it as up various strategies to attract potential investors. A new Investment Incentives Code for instance, grants both fiscal and non fiscal incentives for would be locators and investors in the city. There incentives for investors in priority development and investment areas include exemptions from paying business, franchise and amusement taxes for certain number of years depending on the amount of investment. Other fiscal incentives include exemption from payment of basic real state tax for certain number of years on property, buildings and machineries based on the value of investments; and tax reduction or credit for expenditures on construction of republic infrastructures or aesthetic improvements on building. Non fiscal incentives include business assistance and various services offered by the Iriga City Investment Promotion and Bussiness Assistance Center.

Among the priority investment areas are manufacturing activities, agribusiness and processing, forestry and fishing activities, trading and commercial operations, tourist-related projects; and infrastructure projects and services.

Aside from there incentives, there are other reasons for investing in Iriga. From its warm people and climate to its strategic location. From its accessibility to the availability of basic infrastructures and communication facilities. From its clean and green environment, which has made it the cleanest in bicol for years to its peace and order. From its deep-seated and rich culture to a character-based approach in good governance.

Like the ancient name of its most prominent natural landmark which means in the dialect as “rising sun”, Iriga investors to “rise with us!”
