IRIGA DISTRICT JAIL GETS NEW INMATE TRANSPORT

The Iriga City District Jail received a brand new van from the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology Region V (BJMP-RV) headed by J/SSupt. Emilie P. Aranas. The van will be used to safely transport inmates to and from the District Jail compound located in Barangay La Purisima and the Hall of Justice, some six kilometers away, for their court hearings.

Mr. Ruben Delos Santos, Secretary to the Mayor and J/CInsp. Bernardo Sanchez officially accepted the van at the New Government Center. The vehicle will replace the dilapidated transport which was acquired by the Jail more than two decades ago.

J/SSupt. Aranas also informed Iriga City officials that plans for a new women`s dormitory are on the drawing boards for the District Jail. Iriga City Mayor Madelaine Alfelor-Gazmen expressed her gratitude for the much-needed vehicle and support the Bicol BJMP extended.
