Miss Iriga 2010
City Tourism Offier Engr. Nona Vanessa M. Santiago is inviting young beautiful ladies from Iriga, Rinconada and all parts of the Bicol region to join this year’s annual beauty tilt that is held as one of the main features of the city fiesta on June 13.
Santiago issued the invitation during a meeting with talent scouts at the Desny Grill here last week where she also bared the inclusion of a new title, Ms. Tourism Bicol, in addition to the traditional Ms. Iriga and Ms. Rinconada.
She said that past winners in the annual tilt have themselves went on to win other regional and national crowns, and even land on good jobs or even get elected in public office.
She cited Mutya ng Pilipinas First Runner-up winner and former Ms. Iriga, Angeline Tucio, and the re-election of former Ms. Rinconada Ms. Marisa Velitario-Hao in the Sangguniang Bayan of Nabua, and former Ms. Tourism and Oragon Bikol host, Suzain P. Aguilar, also in the Sangguniang Bayan of Bula.
“So this beauty contest has already chalked up several achievements in its brief history. It’s a good jumping board for bigger opportunities ahead for the winners,” Santiago said.
To qualify for either titles, candidates should either be born in Iriga, Rinconada or Bicol, or should have parents who may have been both or either of whom been themselves born in Iriga, in either of the Rinconada towns, in any of the provinces in Bicol; or they may have been related up to the second degree of consanguinity, that is, they should have grandparents who are from Iriga, Rinconada or Bicol.
Santiago said the screening of the applicants will be on May 26 at the New Government Center in Sta. Cruz Sur; while the pageant proper is set on June 11.
Basic Qualifications:
A. Must be at least a High School student;
B. Must be 16 to 25 years old;
C. At least 5’2 tall, barefoot;
D. Single and must never has given birth;
E. Must be in good health;
F. Of good moral character and reputation; and
G. Must not have been a titlest in any national beauty tilts, e.g. Bb Pilipinas World, International, Universe, Mutya ng Pilipinas, Ms. Philippine Earth, Fire, Wind, Water, Ms. Asia Pacific, etc. Previous winners of Ms. Iriga/Ms. Rinconada/Ms. Tourism are no longer eligible to join. However, non-winning candidates, runners-up in national beauty tilts, regional and provincial titlests are eligible to join.
II Title Qualifications:
A. Ms. Iriga 2010
1. Contenders for Ms. Iriga 2010 can still qualify and win the Ms. Rinconada and Ms. Tourism Bicol title; and
2. Must have “roots” in Iriga. Having “roots” in Iriga means: That the applicant must have been born in Iriga; or the applicant must have been born to parents who, either or both, been themselves born in Iriga; or the applicant, even if she was not born in Iriga, is related up to the 2nd degree of consaguinity, i.e. grandparents.
3. Ms. Rinconada 2010
1. Entries from Rinconada can likewise qualify and win the Ms. Rinconada and Ms. Tourism Bicol Title; and
2. Must have “roots” in Rinconada. Having “roots” in Rinconada means that The applicant must have been born in Rinconada; or the applicant must have been born to parents who may be both or either one of whom, born in the Rinconada area; or the applicant, even if she was not born in Rinconada, is related up to the 2nd degree of consanguinity, i.e. grandparents.
B. Ms. Tourism Bicol 2010
1. Applicants from Iriga and Rinconada are qualified to win the Ms. Tourism Bicol 2010 title; and
2. Must have “roots” in Bicol. Having Bicol “roots” means: That the applicant must have been born in Bicol; or that the applicant must have been born to parents who may be both or either of whom, born in Bicol; or the applicant, even if she was not born in Bicol, is related up the 2nd degree of consanguinity, i.e. grandparents.
III Requirements for Entry
A. Duly accomplished and notarized entry form;
B. Three (3) copies of recent photograph (wholebody and close-up);
n.b. A photographer will be available.
C. Two (2) certified true copies of applicant’s birth certificate (Kindly bring the original birth certificate).

A lawyer and a doctor will be available for notarization and physical examination purposes; A personnel from the Local Civil Registrar will be around to countercheck the authenticity of birth certificates presented for entries from Iriga. Other candidates will have their birth certificates counterchecked via NSO on-line.
An applicant who fails to submit the required documents is disqualified from the search.
The committee reserves the option and exclusive right to change dates, venues, schedules, activities; impose restrictions, sanctions, reprimands, disciplines; and/or decide on matters affecting the contest as deemed necessary.
IV Details of the Screening
A. Screening of Applicants
Date: May 26, 2010
Time: 1:00 PM
Venue: New Government Center, Sta. Cruz, Iriga City
B. Deadline of submission of entries: on or before May 26, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the SECRETARIAT
C. The applicant is required to appear in jeans (denims) and white t-shirt (which will be provided by the organizing committee during the screening),with light make-up and high-heeled shoes.
D. Names of official candidates will be announced at a given time.
V Criteria for Judging
A. Beauty of Face - 35%
B. Figure (Contours & Proportion) - 30%
C. Personality (IT factor, presence) - 25%
D. Intelligence - 10%
