February 23, 2015 – The City of Iriga officially launched the “Smoke Free City” campaign enforcing City Ordinance 2014-02. Spearheaded by the Office of the City Mayor, Hon. Ronald Felix Y. Alfelor, the Iriga City Health Office, Civil Security and with the cooperation of other City Departments a parade is held around the city to promote and spread awareness regarding the health hazards of cigarette smoking.

City ordinance 2014-02, an ordinance regulating the use, sale, distribution and advertisement of cigarettes and other tobacco products in certain places, imposing penalties for violation thereof and providing funds for other purposes it is also otherwise known as the smoke free ordinance of Iriga City.

It shall be unlawful for any person to smoke, or for a person-in-charge to allow smoking, in all enclosed or partially enclosed public places and workplaces, including bars and restaurants, all forms of public conveyance, and public outdoor spaces within the territorial jurisdiction of Iriga City.

Starting march 16 the smoke-free Iriga City Enforcers composed of PNP personnel, CSU and deputized civilians will issue a citation ticket to those who will be caught violating the smoke-free ordinance.
